Landscaping is the integration between nature and man-made feature. Knowing the natural elements in your surrounding and combining it with the living element, human element and also building structure.
Therefore the whole characteristic of the landscape is the extension of the occupants of the land. Landscaping is the combination of the art of horticulture and artistic design whereby the harmony between man and nature are restored.
Natural element includes the terrain, rivers, slopes and the shape of the land. The living element involves the flora and fauna. Human element involves the usage of the land including any structure built on the plot of land.
Landscaping varies between the countries depending on the practice of the expert of the region. Normally the contractor would map the land and work with it combining with the man-made feature. There are no hard and fast rule to landscaping and it purely based on the normal practice of the contractor of the region

Point of reference or focal point is whereby the element of nature incorporating to the design and forming the aesthetic designs. Some of the designers create the focal point that is a contrast to the surrounding revolving around the colour, texture and the size of the integration.
